What a beautiful baby, my heart is aching. I can’t even imagine how the parents were able to go through this. I just take one look at his pudgy, soft, little hands when he was a toddler, his beautiful smile in his school photos, and his big bright eyes and I just feel my heart getting ripped apart. To think that someone could do something horrible to something as beautiful as a child, I just can’t comprehend it.

The only thing that is able to console me is knowing that he had a great life and it was only the last few hours he lived in fear. Based off of these photos it seems that every hour before that was filled with love and joy.

Poor, sweet kiddo. Even knowing that his little defeated heart was brave enough to try to escape. Ugh, It’s hard for me as a complete stranger to try to imagine it over 20 years after the boy has been laid to rest, I can’t even imagine how horrific it would’ve been for the parents who were able to remember what the smell of his skin was like, how his laugh sounded and how it was to feel his hand in theirs. Those memories would kill me.

    RIP sweet child :(

I am sorry for your loss. He was such a wonderful kid and no kids deserve this. I really appreciate the efforts you take to educate parents and kids and for maintaining this web site. I hope no other kid in this world would go through what Jimmy went through.
Thoughts and positive vibes from the other part of the world.

Jimmy your smile brings peace and hope for a safer community🌻. The Ryce family work made the Redlands, Florida and across the U.S safer for children. I was not yet born when Jimmy was taken in 1995 but his story still lives in our community. Jimmy Gems is something that every school and parent should teach our children. My family and I will honor the Ryce family legacy, with all respect to the Ryce family ❤️. I will honor the Jimmy Ryce center legacy and support this center. The pain this tragedy has brought upon my heart is like nothing I have ever felt. I believe stronger laws should exist where sexual predators should be tortured for every horrific act they commit against a child. Only then, Justice would have been served for children!
